The other thing I found–being based out of Colorado and calling into New York–is nobody really wants to go to dinner with you. At first, I was kind of insulted, or thought maybe people just didn’t like me. I thought that that was what a good sales person did: you take out prospective clients to dinner. Then it struck me: these folks in the NYC ad world work 10 hour days and can afford to go out to dinner. Why would they want to extend their work day another 2 hours just for a free dinner?
— Really awesomely insightful comment from Erik Kubek on my recent post. He’s dead on, great addition to the thinking.
